Unveiling of the Official Mascot<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The official mascot of the <\/span><b>Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, will be unveiled by His Excellency <\/span><b>Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, President of the Republic of Senegal, in the morning at the Presidential Palace .  Also in attendance will be <\/span><b>Mr. Mamadou Diagna Ndiaye<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, President of the <\/span><b>Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC),<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and IOC representatives.<\/span><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p><h3><b>b. Mascot welcome by children\u00a0<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c0 <\/span><b>At 12:00<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">children who have completed the <\/span><b>Olympic Civic and Sports Certificate (BOCS)<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> programme will gather at the <\/span><b>Museum of Black Civilisations<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to welcome the mascot and take part in educational activities based on Olympic values.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>c. OMEGA launches the \u201cONE YEAR TO GO \u201ccountdown campaign<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A launch ceremony will take place at <\/span><b>5:00 p.m.,<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">at <\/span><b>Dakar Train Station<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. OMEGA, the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games, will unveil the countdown clock for the event.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h2><b>3. DAKAR EN JEUX - 4TH AND FINAL EDITION<\/b><\/h2><p><b>From 4 to 9 November 2025<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A flagship event in the (2022-2026) Youth Commitment and Mobilisation Plan, <\/span><b>Dakar en Jeux<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is back for its <\/span><b>latest edition<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. This multi-disciplinary festival combines sport, culture, and education, providing a unique opportunity to share Olympic values.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>1. Play Programme\u00a0<\/b><\/h3><p><b>From 6 to 9 November 2025: 9 am to 11 am<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sports education will be at the heart of this final edition of Dakar en Jeux. Demonstration and discovery sessions will be organised, allowing children to try out a variety of disciplines. <\/span><b>These sessions will conclude with an anti-doping awareness session.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> During an interactive discussion, children will learn about the rules of high-level sport, the dangers involved, non-compliant products, medicines, ethics, and the definition of doping. The ten (10) disciplines selected for the programme are basketball, baseball, futsal, judo, boxing, fencing, badminton, table tennis, archery and athletics.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Les 10 disciplines retenues pour ce programme : <\/span><b>basketball, baseball, football, judo, boxe, escrime, badminton, tennis de table, tir \u00e0 l&rsquo;arc, athl\u00e9tisme.<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><h3><b>2. Music and culture: A major open-air festival<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Throughout the week, music and the arts will set the tone in <\/span><b>Dakar, Saly and Diamniadio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the future host cities of the YOG:<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>4 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Concert by <\/span><b>Tex<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Dakar TER station, 6pm-7pm)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>5 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Concert by <\/span><b>Kya Loum<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (Dakar TER station, 6pm-7pm)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>6 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Kondiof Ballet (morning), Senegal Art Production (afternoon), <\/span><b>concert by Ash the Best<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (6pm-7pm)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>7 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Demba Codou Troupe (morning), 12e Ndiago (afternoon), Fashion Show (6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)\u00a0<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>8 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 Peul Fouladou Acrobats (morning), Casamance Masks (afternoon), A big concert at <\/span><b>Saly Beach West<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (7pm-midnight)<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>9 November<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u2013 L\u00e9bou Sal Gniep Troupe (morning), Faux Lions (afternoon)<\/span><\/li><\/ul><h3><b>3. An international futsal tournament\u00a0<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For this final edition, two<\/span><b> international U16 boys' and girls'<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> futsal tournaments will gather four (4) prestigious nations. <\/span><b>On the men's side, Brazil, France, Morocco, and Senegal will be the four teams competing<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><b>. On the women's side, Senegal, Mauritania, Guinea and Namibia will compete.\u00a0<\/b><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The futsal tournament will be held at the <\/span><b>Dakar Arena in Diamniadio<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, giving the YOGOC an opportunity to test its organisational arrangements one year ahead of the Games.<\/span><\/p><h3><b>4. Impact spark: Youth at the heart of well-being<\/b><\/h3><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Following its success in 2024, the <\/span><b>Impact Spark programme returns<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> this year to <\/span><b>Place du Souvenir<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. It will combine physical activities and awareness workshops to promote health and well-being.
