With just one year to go before the first Olympic sporting event ever to be staged on the African continent, the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (COJOJ) and SOCOCIM Industries have signed a partnership agreement. Now an official sponsor of this major international event, SOCOCIM reaffirms its long-standing commitment to the development of sport and youth in Senegal.
For many years, SOCOCIM has established itself as a key stakeholder in youth empowerment and sports development in Senegal. Deeply rooted in the Rufisque area, the company combines social responsibility with a strong commitment to sustainable development, contributing to the creation of a promising future for local communities while enhancing the profile of sport nationwide.
On Monday 3 November 2025 in Dakar, in the presence of Mr Ibrahima Wade, General Coordinator of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee, and Mr Elhadji Mamadou Seck, Chief Executive Officer of SOCOCIM Industries, the COJOJ and SOCOCIM formalised their partnership, officially designating SOCOCIM as a sponsor of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
A commitment to youth
Founded in 1948, SOCOCIM Industries is today a leading reference in the cement sector in West Africa. Modern and environmentally responsible, the company offers a diversified range of products and services, combining expertise and innovation to better serve its customers.
This alliance marks a new stage in the mobilisation of national economic actors around an unprecedented event for both Senegal and the African continent. As an official sponsor, SOCOCIM is deploying its resources and values to position sport as a lever for social transformation, in line with its corporate social responsibility commitments.
Through this partnership, SOCOCIM becomes a catalyst for community engagement around Dakar 2026 within the Rufisque department, helping to inspire and mobilise young people. The collaboration offers youth a unique opportunity to connect with Olympic values - excellence, respect and friendship - and to fully experience the spirit of Dakar 2026.
Unity, confidence and ambition
For COJOJ Dakar 2026, this partnership illustrates the coordinated mobilisation of the private sector around a shared objective: welcoming the world to Dakar and providing African and international young athletes with a memorable experience.
It symbolises Senegal’s unity, confidence and ambition - a nation firmly focused on the future and determined to inscribe this landmark event in the history of continental and global sport.
The Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be the first Olympic sporting event ever organised in Africa, marking a significant milestone for the continent. Beyond sporting competition, the Games will provide an opportunity to showcase Senegal’s cultural richness and highlight Africa’s growing role within the Olympic Movement.
