Senegal, the first African country to host the Youth Olympic Games in 2026, is, as such, a showcase to the entire world and a reflection of the whole continent.
This global sporting event, a first in Africa, will bring together, over a period of 14 days of competitions and activities, nearly 2,700 athletes aged between 14 and 18, both girls and boys, as well as several thousand officials and accompanying staff.
On this occasion, the competition for the creation of the official music of the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 (“YOG Dakar 2026”) is planned, with the aim of highlighting the creativity of young people through a piece of music that will leave a lasting impression on everyone.
The organization of this competition also aims to mobilize and actively involve young people so that they may fully contribute to the success of this first Olympic event ever organized on the African continent.
In general, this competition is intended to be inclusive and represents a tremendous opportunity for young people to reveal and fully realize their potential, while conveying a powerful message.
La musique officielle des JOJ, composée de l’instrumental et des paroles qui l’accompagnent, constituera l’identité sonore des JOJ Dakar 2026. It will be used during the different events organized in connection with YOG Dakar 2026 (engagement and mobilization activities, ceremonies, torch relay, etc.).. The official music must promote YOG Dakar 2026 and honor the history of Senegal, while inspiring young people to write the next chapter.

Elle ne doit faire aucun lien avec des marques ou signes commerciaux, ni avec des idéologies politiques, religieuses, ethniques, sexistes, discriminatoires de toute autre manière, promouvant la violence et/ou la haine et ne doit en porter aucun signe représentatif. The official music may be composed using several musical styles in complete harmony.
The use of local sounds and instruments is encouraged.
The music must be mainstream, as much as possible suitable for all types of audiences.
The music must necessarily include lyrics, which must reflect the values of YOG Dakar 2026 and must not contain degrading or obscene words or phrases.
