Amadou Dia Ba, Olympic Medalist: "I have been involved in Dakar 2026 since the announcement of Senegal as the host country."

Amadou Dia Ba, silver medallist in the 400m hurdles at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, has expressed his full support for the Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee (YOGOC) in its preparations for Dakar 2026. The athletics legend spoke last Saturday at a seminar organised by YOGOC entitled " Sports Presentation, " a theme that covers the various roles that are essential to the success of the Olympic event. For Amadou Dia Ba, there is no doubt that these Games will be a success.

Amadou Dia Ba pledged his unwavering commitment to the Youth Olympic Games Organising Committee's (YOGOC) activities: “I have been involved in Dakar 2026 since Senegal was announced as the host country, which I am very happy about. We must congratulate and thank the President of the National Olympic Committee, Mr Diagna Ndiaye, who has made it possible for Senegal and Africa to host these YOGs. I am here and I will stay here. Everything is going very well. Every Senegalese, whether an athlete or not, has a responsibility in this event because we are going to host the whole world. We are all in the same boat”.
