The Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee (COJOJ) and the National Digital Corporation (SENUM) finalize several months of collaboration and sign a partnership agreement, the first phase of which focuses on human resources. The COJOJ remains true to its guiding principle, which is to place national corporations at the heart of the Games' delivery. On its part, SENUM is providing technical staff who will contribute their expertise by integrating with the COJOJ teams. A second phase will also be deployed, focusing on the provision of certain services.
On Tuesday, December 31, 2024, the Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee and the National Digital Corporation signed an agreement to fully enter the year 2025. This strategic and essential collaboration will initially focus on human resources. "Digital technologies are at the heart of delivering the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Indeed, everything is done with the massive use of digital technology: our daily interactions with the International Olympic Committee, International Federations, and National Olympic Committees worldwide, the overall planning of the event. This usage will intensify with the upcoming stages. Monitoring the preparation of athletes, accreditation procedures, managing entries and exits for participants to and from Senegal, security, cybersecurity, managing competitions and results, their broadcasting, etc., are all key moments that will heavily rely on digital technologies," emphasized Ibrahima Wade, General Coordinator of the COJOJ. Aware of the challenges ahead, the National Digital Corporation (SENUM S.A.) has decided to provide technical staff to the COJOJ—personnel who will make every effort to ensure an optimal contribution to the delivery of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games. Isidore Diouf, Director of SENUM, expressed his satisfaction with the collaboration: "This agreement reflects both COJOJ's desire to involve the local digital ecosystem in organizing these Games and SENUM's commitment to contributing significantly to the event's success by offering its technical expertise." It is worth noting that a second phase is planned in this collaboration between COJOJ and SENUM, which will likely involve providing certain telecommunication services, including hosting the GMS (Game Management Services) applications and providing high-speed connectivity via access to the international underwater SHARE network.
The Youth Olympic Games Organizing Committee and the National Digital Corporation have already worked together on projects, including the latest edition of the Dakar en Jeux Festival—a successful first full-scale trial that satisfied all parties.
