APROSI, official partner of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games

The YOGOC and APROSI, the national agency responsible for the development and promotion of industrial sites, have just signed a partnership agreement. The experience and rigor of this public body will play a key role during the Games.

The 4th Youth Olympic Games will be held in Dakar from October 31 to November 13, 2026. This is a first for Africa and in the history of the Olympic Games. For this event, 2,700 athletes, thousands of administrative and technical officials, and thousands of tons of sports equipment, technological equipment, and various supplies from around the world are expected to arrive in Dakar.

Faced with these significant flows, the YOGOC intends to demonstrate “rigor, security, and foresight.” With this in mind, a partnership has been signed with APROSI, the Agency for the Development and Promotion of Industrial Sites in Senegal.

Organizing global events

APROSI, a public company, is under the authority of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Responsible for developing and promoting industrial platforms and zones, APROSI attracts investors and seeks to boost industrialization in Senegal through modern infrastructure, serviced land, and premises suitable for businesses.

‘‘Beyond sport, Dakar 2026 must demonstrate that Africa, and Senegal in particular, has the skills, infrastructure, and vision necessary to organize events of global significance," said the general coordinator of the Dakar 2026 YOG, Mr. Ibrahima Wade, at the signing of the partnership agreement on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Greater involvement of public authorities

With its high-quality infrastructure and experience in managing industrial and logistics zones, APROSI provides the YOGOC with a solid operational base. According to Mr. Wade, “this partnership will ensure secure, centralized storage of all the equipment needed for the competitions, guarantee a smooth supply chain to the various Olympic venues, and strengthen our operational control by limiting the risk of delays or malfunctions.”

This partnership agreement is in line with the guidelines set out by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Faye. The Senegalese head of state recently stated that the YOG should be a lever for national transformation, accelerating the modernization of infrastructure and stimulating the local economy through job creation, among other things. In December, he also committed to “strengthening coordination” between the YOGOC and the public authorities. This is the first illustration of this commitment.
