Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games - Official launch of the Volunteer Programme

As the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games approach, the Organising Committee (COJOJ) has officially launched an extensive volunteer programme. This initiative is open both to the people of Senegal and to anyone living abroad who wishes to contribute to the success of this historic event.

The programme aims to recruit more than 6,000 volunteers — a concrete means of mobilising Senegal’s energy and talent, both within and beyond its borders, to ensure that the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games become a collective success and a source of national pride.

This initiative, named Jambaar26 — meaning “warrior” in Wolof, the most widely spoken language in Senegal — highlights the commitment and bravery embodied by volunteers, who are among the essential pillars of any Olympic event.

Whether you are a student, a working professional, a retiree, undergoing a career transition, or simply driven by the desire to participate, your contribution is welcome. By joining Jambaar26, you will offer your time, skills, enthusiasm, and dedication in service of the entire nation.

Volunteer missions: a variety of roles for all talents

Selected volunteers will be able to contribute across a wide range of areas, including:

  • Site management and the Olympic Village
  • Ticketing, reception, and visitor orientation
